Construction of the industrial park began in 2023. Covering an area of 28,000 square meters, it is expected to produce 1,000 excavators annually, serving the entire African market.

At the completion ceremony, Guo Ruiguang, Vice President of Sany Group and Chairman of its Africa Region Business Unit, stated that Sany Group first launched its global expansion in Africa, and has since sold over US$3 billion worth of equipment there, with its service network covering all African countries.

“This is not just an industrial park, but a comprehensive platform integrating manufacturing, logistics, and talent training, which will create more than 100 new jobs for the local community,” said Guo Ruiguang.

Judith Chabalala, South African Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, praised the completion of the industrial park, stating that the project reflects Chinese companies' confidence in South Africa's economic prospects and their long-term commitment to the region.

“The most remarkable aspect of this project is its investment in skills development and technology transfer. By training and upgrading the workforce's skills, it will help South Africa cultivate a new generation of technicians and engineers,” she said.

Qiu Zhongyi, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in South Africa, said that over the years, Sany Group has evolved from an equipment vendor into a participant and contributor to South Africa's industrialization process.

Qiu Zhongyi stated that South Africa is one of China's most important investment destinations in Africa, where Chinese companies create jobs, contribute taxes, and create opportunities for the common development of both countries.
